TOOTSIE
Movie shows story of a man , an actor who couldn't get any role. After some time, in act of desperation he dressed as a woman and went for an audition for a role in a soap opera. He passed the audition and his life changed immediately.
TOOTSIE is not another simple comedy , there are no schematic jokes . In my opinion even someone who thinks that comedy is very obvious would be positively surprised. I think movie except great humor contains very important thread which encourages viewer to reflection , namely : how much someone desperate can do to achive something what he really want. The second , but not less important thread is main character'a inner transformation- he started understanding women better, he started "fighting for their rights" .
In my opinion TOOTSIE is a movie which connects unobvious, but great humor with very oryginal and unparalleled story. Dialogues are appropriate for the younger viewers what leads me to think that movie doesn't have to be controversial to be a great comedy.
